Performer: Jan Kraybill http://www.cofchrist.org/dome_spire/calendar.asp#kraybill Contact info: jkraybillCofChrist.org message: probisonCofChristorg Details: On Sunday, February 3, at 3:00 p.m., Jan Kraybill, Principal Organist at Community of Christ Headquarters, will present her thirteenth annual Super Bowl Sunday organ recital at the 1993 Casavant at Community of Christ Temple, 201 S. River Blvd., Independence, MO. Titled "Second Acts," the recital celebrates composers who have reinvented themselves or their art forms. The program will include J.S. Bach's concerto after Vivaldi, BWV 596; Liszt's "Prelude and Fugue on B-A-C-H" and "Kirchen-Hymne: Salve Regina;" Duruflé's "Scherzo, Op. 2;" Alain's "Deux danses à Agni Yavishta;" Messaien's "Verset pour la fête de la Dédicace;" William Albright's "Sweet Sixteenths: A Concert Rag for Organ" (with a mystery guest!); and Bonnet's "Variations de Concert, Op. 1." In addition, Jane Chu, CEO of the Kauffman Center, will speak about their new Casavant and the inaugural celebration which will occur just over a month after Super Bowl Sunday.
